13th Annual Veggie Fest!

Hundreds of people attended last year's Veggie Fest at Hoopes Park on June 27, 2009. Attendees enjoyed tasty vegan food, information, exhibitors, live music, games, and great company. We had a wonderful variety of food thanks to all of our generous donors. And, of course, none of this would have been possible if not for our hard-working volunteers! Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, attended and exhibited at Veggie Fest. We look forward to this year's Veggie Fest and hope to see you there.

Help the Planet!
As part of CARE's environmental mission, we are encouraging attendees to bring all of the resusable plates, cups, flatware, and cloth napkins needed for the event - receive $1 off the price of admission in exchange for helping the planet.

Thanks to a generous donation from World Centric, CARE is delighted to offer compostable plates, cups, and flatware to those who do not bring their own reusable items. We expect to have compost containers as we have had for the past two years for food scraps. This year the cups and flatware can go in there, too, if you chose not to bring them home for reuse or to show other people.

Carpool or take SEPTA.
While dietarty choices are the biggest step in helping the planet, transportation is the next biggest step. Please consider carpooling or using public transportation to attend the event. Chester County offers a detailed guide that includes public systems in addition to SEPTA.
