"Going entirely vegan saves the greenhouse gas equivalent of driving 8,000 miles less per year, while eating an all-local diet only saves the equivalent of 1000 fewer miles each year." (Carnegie Mellon researchers Weber and Matthews)
Who We Are
CARE is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization based in West Chester, Pennsylvania, concerned with animal and environmental issues. We serve communities in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties with educational programs, outreach, and direct campaigning on behalf of the environment and animals (human and non-human).
We feel that it is important to make decisions about living based on respect for all beings and the earth, and we encourage others to join us in considering considering plant-based foods for their lifestyles.
What We Are About
We are dedicated to
respectful living through education and activism.
Our Beliefs
- We believe a non-violent
lifestyle contributes to peaceful evolution on planet earth.
- We believe all life on earth is interconnected.
- We believe in the inherent worth and dignity of human and non-human
beings.
- We believe all animals should live free from human exploitation.
- We believe that a plant-based diet is beneficial to the environment,
helps alleviate world hunger and is healthy for humans and non-humans.
- We believe all wild animals have the right to live in harmony with their
nature rather than according to human desires.
Our Goals
- To promote a vegan
lifestyle.
- To inform the public about how food
choices affect human health, the environment, and world hunger.
- To provide opportunities for activism.
